Turn off the critic.

“I’ll never be able to write every day.”
You don’t have to.

“Who would want to read about this?”
I would.

“If only I’d started when I was younger.”
By this time next year, you will have.

This thinly disguised critic is not welcome at the table and has to wait outside of the room. The critic can be very seductive–I’m good at helping you listen carefully so that you won’t be tricked.

The groups are small, seldom more than 6 or 7. The sessions are offered for 8 weeks. Everyone writes and reads in each class. Habit is a virtue and this is about reinforcing the muscle of writing and making it a regular part of your week.

Classes are held at my studio in Los Angeles.
